It’s looking like I have to return my AirPods Pro because they are causing me to have small headaches.
First, let me say that I LOVE how the Pros sound. I’m not an audiophile by any means. The 1st generation AirPods were amazing to me and fit in my ears perfectly. Perfect for around the house and the gym. They never fall out and I even sleep with them on to distract my mind to help me sleep.
Apple announces the AirPods Pro and I am super excited. Better sound, noise cancellation and tips so earwax doesn’t directly go into the speakers like the originals? SIGN ME UP!!
I get them on Sunday and I try them at home. The default tips don’t stay in my ears. Ok. I switch to the Small tips. Works perfectly for my left ear. Right ear feels…loose. Sure enough, the right won’t stay in. So I adjust by twisting down and turning towards my face. That seems to work. But then pressure mounts in my head. Tiny headaches. Enough where I need to get ibuprofen. A good example is where you get a new pair of prescription glasses and your eyes have to adjust. In the meantime, that adjustment might cause your head to hurt a little. That’s what happens with me and my AirPods Pro.
I go to work today. I try them again. Sure enough, the left one is good to go but the right one keeps slipping out. Even before I try my trick, pressure in my head mounts up. I don’t mean migraine headaches but small little annoying ones. On a scale of pain, it’s a 2 or 3 but still noticeable. Compared to the originals, the 1st Gen AirPods were snug and never felt loose ever. The Pros sound way better but I am sad that I have these issues with them.
I have another month or so with the Pros due to my Elite Plus status at Best Buy. I don’t want to give them up but at the moment, I’m probably going to trade them in for the 2nd generation. Sucks.
