Found an iPhone (4 or 4S) in a former rental vehicle — silver Hyundai, 2017 Santa Fe
I’m not even sure if there’s any use in trying this, since it’s obviously been so long since the iPhone’s owner could have lost their phone. However, I’m hoping I can find them, and I welcome any input.
The situation: roughly a year ago, my partner and I purchased a used 2017 Santa Fe, and were informed by the dealership that it had previously belonged to a car rental company. (Enterprise, maybe? My memory is no good.) Rather recently, I had dropped something around the front passenger seat. While reaching between the console and the seat, I found an iPhone (family members tell me it’s a 4 or 4S) in an otter box.
There is literally no way it could belong to anyone who has been in the car since we bought it. All phones have been accounted for, and so we’ve concluded that the most likely owner of this phone was someone involved in renting the car.
The phone is password protected (although it’s charged up successfully after two Canadian winters and no use in the interim), and the service has understandably been cut, so Siri isn’t working.
Is there something else I should try? Does anyone know someone who has lost their iPhone under these exact circumstances? Many thanks for any suggestions, and also thanks for taking the time to read this post.
