Why does the IPad Pro features USB-C and the other devices don’t?
With the new iPhone very likely to keep the lightning port and all other iPad and accesories using it also, the question I have is why did Apple decided to put USB-C in the Pro versions of Ipads in the first place?
At the beginning, everyone thought this was Apple first step in massive migration of every device to USB-C. But as time passes, this theory started to fall apart.
The other theory: leaving USB-C to the Pros, also fails because for once, the IPhone Pro fails the test and also because it may be a bad move to Apple to “admit” lightning is worse because only Pro devices use USB-C.
Frankly, I think Apple doesn’t have a master plan on this. They just wanted to put USB-C on the iPad Pro for compatibility with peripherals but they didn’t thing on the repercussions of this on their other devices.
