Has iOS stability decreased recently?
I have an iPad Pro that’s about 2.5 years old, and lately I’ve noticed two minor issues with it.
1. When I turn it on, held in landscape orientation, it detects vertical, so the screen is sideways. I dependably have to turn it vertical, then back to landscape for the screen to rotate. This started happening several months ago. I presumed it was a minor bug, and would be ironed out in an update…but it’s still happening. Currently on iOS 13.3.
2. Lots of browser crashes, both Safari and Chrome. In the early days of iOS this was pretty common for me, and I just ignored it. Eventually the OS and browsers became very stable. But lately I’m seeing more crashes. I haven’t kept detailed track, but I’d say at least once per day. More often, when I start the browsers, I get a message about not being able to shut down properly, and I have to “restore” tabs. But sometimes a legit crash, where the app just flickers off.
Have there been known stability issues over the last several releases? Could this be an indication my iPad is dying?
I don’t have a ton of apps, and for the most part I just use this thing for daily surfing and occasional Netflix.
