Is it possible for iPhone 11 (and newer models) to be supported for >6 years?
Since the iPhone 11 series has such a powerful chip paired with future iOS updates getting less demanding (more incremental) every year compared to a few years ago, would it be possible for Apple to continue support for this model (and newer phones) for much longer than previous iPhones?
Apple is also pushing for hardware to last longer as to reduce e-waste and we’ve slowly seen iOS support for older iPhones creep up from 4 years to 5 years and so on.
We’ve seen Apple adapt to reduced iPhone sales over the years by pushing into selling services, perhaps they’ll accept people don’t want to buy new iPhones as often anymore and continue pushing updates for those people so their phones can last a few years longer.
What do you guys think?
