Apps which try to make you buy features without prompting you at all should be banned from the App Store
I was trying out some free/trial measurement app. I opened it and saw that the only module available was the level tool, or something like that, I don’t remember. Anyway, I pressed on it, and after a few seconds I decided to exit out of it by pressing the home button. The problem is, moments earlier, it showed the buy prompt—*even though I hadn’t pressed anything*—and my fingerprint was authenticated.
I find this to be grossly scummy from the app developer. I know there are other apps that do this as well, because they have been posted here and on /r/apple before. I’m not worried about myself—I know how to ask for refunds. The problem is this is an issue *I should not be facing.* And quite frankly, this is embarrassing for a company to allow through their audits—a company which prides itself in having less tech-savvy, as well as more elderly people using their devices (and might I say, there are some elderly people who use their devices which they fingers on the sensor. If they didn’t initiate a purchase, is it not wrong that the app developer would get to charge them for it?).
