Is there a non-glass screen protector out there that the Apple Pencil won’t scratch?
Preface: I hate glass screen protectors, because installing them is such a huge pain in the ass. If you screw up just a little bit or try to lift it to get some dust out, the adhesive on the corner will fade and you can never get it back down. Every time I try again it’s the same result, I don’t want a glass screen protector. Hell I just had that happen with my Surface Go, I tried putting on an amFilm glass protector and I tried to lift it to get one hair out as carefully as possible, immediately the corner went bad and wouldn’t go back down. I put a regular film back on. I’m done with glass.
Currently I use a Tech Armor clear film which does the job well, however it is prone to scratch after awhile rather easily from the Apple Pencil. I was wondering if there was a film option out there where this doesn’t happen so I don’t have to keep putting new ones on. I’ve also in the past tried Mediadevil which doesn’t scratch but also seems to emphasize every single fingerprint so after awhile I just took it off because it got annoying. I also tried Power Support which also didn’t scratch from the Pencil but after awhile it seemed to scratch from normal use, and I was pissed because it cost me over $30 for just two.
Is there a better solution out there? I’m not a huge fan of matte ones because it screws with the image and makes it blurry or rainbow-ish, and I also use my iPad for other things besides just drawing. I know that sometimes there’s ‘flexible glass’ which isn’t as unforgiving to install as the regular thick tempered glass, I’m not sure if those are out there and if that would be any better.
For the record I have a 2018 11” Pro.
