iPadOS has legitimately made 50% of the apps I have installed useless now.
I’ve uninstalled so many apps now that safari supports native desktop mode.. It feels like I’m just like on My Macbook Pro.. I personally think it was one of the most underrated features in iPadOS..
For example, In iOS 12 to go on eBay – I’d go on safari then eBay, quickly get frustrated with the lack of proper UI and wasted space on an 11 inch screen .. Holding down the refresh button will request desktop site but unfortunately it always forgot and wasn’t native, so I’d have to do it again everytime plus sometimes when opening up a new page it would glitch thinking its in mobile or whatever and there would just be bugs.. I resulted in using The eBay app.
Now this pretty much applied to all these other apps like Google drive, Docs, numbers, Bank app, reddit, PayPal, Dropbox, shopping apps and many others..
In fact I’ve uninstalled Apollo (sorry dev i love it on my iPhone though) and am just using Reddit via Safari to write this post since the experience is just better.
I also wonder what impact this has on future apps and the direction majority of these apps are going.
Anyone else finding the same?
