Apple won’t replace my battery because it’s still above 80%. My battery is at 82%. Help please.
I’m trying to refurbish a 6S Plus for resell and the battery is just slightly above the threshold for a battery replacement. I wanted to pay Apple to replace the battery but they wouldn’t because the “battery is still running at peak performance”.
Can anybody offer suggestions as to how to get the battery to a serviceable state (below 80% capacity)?
Backstory: I set an appointment at my local Geek Squad (I work for Best Buy and it’s super convenient to get a phone fixed while I’m at work) and Apple refused a battery replacement because it wasn’t showing that it needed to be serviced. I’m trying to sell this iPhone 6S Plus and since there’s a ton for sale, I figure one of the ways I can set it apart from other listings would be to have the battery replaced. Apple declined the replacement even though I was willing to pay to have the service done. I wouldn’t feel right selling a “near-mint condition” device if the battery is going to need to be replaced within 90 days.
