This is for all my graphic designers out there!
Hey everyone, I’ve always wanted to be able to create and make those amazing pictures everyone posts about but was honestly never able to do so due to the lack of motivation and courage. I am a 17 year old who’s been working with photoshop at school for my media arts class quite a bit (never for crazy projects) basically whenever asked to do something I did it and did fairly good. I’ve always had an overall of 90% in my media arts classes and have been doing it since a freshman and now I’m on my senior year.
I recently purchased an iPad Pro 12.9 inch as well as the Apple Pencil to correspond and really been wanting to make something out of it and see if perhaps I have talents in any way when it comes to graphic designing. The ideas always flow in my head but when it comes to actually making it I end up getting discouraged and stop doing it.
The biggest program I face is that unless I’m told exactly what to do or make, I won’t even try and that’s why I do so well in my media arts class is because I have a general idea to follow and go off of that but when it comes to creating on my own because I know at the end of the day no one is going to see it other than myself I don’t have the passion to try even though I really want too, I guess what I’m asking for help is what programs do I use for drawing I have procreate already and what’s a good way to get into the scene and get my hands dirty, what are some good ways to get better at using a pencil on a screen rather than pencil and paper and what are ways to think of things to make when I’m not being told to make things. I don’t like outlining things because I feel like that loses the fun of cresting, I love just free drawing and coming up with things on the go unless I’m given a specific instruction on what to make.
Thank you everyone for any advice/tips 🙂
