Why does Safari refresh so often on iPad OS?
Hi all, been using my mid 2015 MacBook Pro 13 all through University and it’s been fantastic, never failed me or slowed down even once over the last 4 years.
I’m finishing Uni soon and have bought the 11inch iPad Pro 2020 as a replacement as it is more suited to my needs post Uni.
I’ve got one massive problem with iPad OS though. I usually have 5+ tabs on safari open at a time (mainly google docs) but whenever I use another app I come back to safari and every single tab has to reload, which is a huge pain and time waster since I like to work on projects over several days and have the tabs open for long durations. I’ve never had this problem with my MacBook, which keeps tabs open for multiple days without the need for reloading.
My iPad Pro has 6GB of RAM vs my MacBook’s 8GB and has a much more powerful CPU so I don’t understand why safari has to reload so often. Is this a limitation of iPad OS vs Mac OS or a hardware limitation of the iPad Pro? Can I do anything to fix the issue? It’s a big problem for me and is the only thing stopping me making the iPad Pro my daily driver.
TL;DR- iPad Pro reloads Safari tabs far too often compared with Mac OS. Is there a solution?
