Why can’t Apple make the Watch unlock your iPhone like it unlocks the Mac, so you don’t have to fumble with your passcode when you’re wearing a mask?
Masks have almost neutralized Face ID and I hate having to type my passcode in front of everyone every minute (viewing messages etc.)
You can’t even slide your finger around on the numbers (have to tap separately) unlike on Android where you can just draw a pattern, and the animation of the keypresses and shaking often slows you down further (like that bug with the Calculator app where you couldn’t tap too fast before the button animations finished)
Why not just give an option where your Apple Watch can unlock your iPhone?
It could be like on the Mac and only work if the phone and watch are physically near each other. The phone can always try Face ID first, but if it detects a mask, it can check if you’re wearing an unlocked watch.
And of course people who don’t like that (because of security concerns or whatever) can just disable the option like on the Mac.
